Capsule cradle repositioning and transport handover

ESV-S03-SOP-03 Crew capsule Simulation procedure

Rehearse moving an inert capsule between a declared parking pose and its cradle configuration while preserving support, clearance and closure evidence. Recover from an incorrectly seated support state.

Use this procedure to author and assess a controlled simulation with the Crew capsule model, version 3. This is a concept-model training exercise. It does not authorise real hardware work or establish flight qualification.

Before the exercise

Use kinematic simulation only. The parked pose, motion envelope and support states must be authored and reviewed. Any lifting device is an abstract training support state, not a modelled or certified hoist. No people ride in the capsule.

1 Establish the handover baseline

Model labels: capsule, cradle, shell

Identify the capsule, cradle and shell. Save the initial orientation and the intended transport configuration.

Check: The task revision and all three labels must match before movement.

2 Check the cradle support configuration

Model labels: cradle_left, cradle_right, cradle_rear

Select the three cradle supports and verify their training ready states. Identify any support that differs from the baseline.

Check: An unavailable support blocks the transfer plan.

3 Secure the cradle feet

Model labels: foot_fl, foot_fr, foot_rl, foot_rr

Confirm each foot is in its authored secured state. Record the four locations individually before the capsule is released from its parked state.

Check: A missing foot confirmation causes a hold rather than an assumed stable cradle.

4 Restore external closure

Model labels: door, door_latch_upper, door_latch_lower, top_hatch

Close the service door, confirm its two latch states and verify the top hatch remains in the required training condition.

Check: Movement is blocked while an open service access state remains.

5 Protect exposed interfaces

Model labels: ports_right, upper_port_front, upper_port_rear, service_bay

Identify the exposed service interfaces and assign their protected training states. Keep the transfer envelope clear of the service bay.

Check: Protected is recorded metadata; no unmodelled protective cap is claimed to exist.

6 Confirm the transfer path

Model labels: shell, crown, cradle_brace_fl, cradle_brace_fr

Preview the authored path between parked and cradle poses. Identify crown and brace clearances before acknowledging readiness.

Check: Unknown real handling clearances remain unresolved outside the simulation.

7 Acquire the supported capsule state

Model labels: capsule, cradle, shell

Set the declared external support state, then release the parked constraint. Move only the capsule assembly along the authorised keyframe path.

Check: Releasing a constraint without support is a critical error.

8 Approach the cradle datums

Model labels: shell, cradle_left, cradle_right, cradle_rear

Bring the capsule to the defined approach pose and compare its support contacts with all three cradle datums.

Check: A reversed or offset approach is rejected before seating.

9 Recover the seating discrepancy

Model labels: cradle_left, cradle_right, shell

Present an offset seating state at the right support. Hold, retain the external support state and return to the last accepted approach pose.

Check: Removing support from the offset capsule is a critical failure.

10 Seat and verify the corrected pose

Model labels: capsule, cradle_left, cradle_right, cradle_rear

Repeat the approach with the reviewed correction. Confirm each support contact state and the final baseline orientation.

Check: The corrected pose and all support confirmations are required together.

11 Transfer the support responsibility

Model labels: capsule, cradle, cradle_brace_rl, cradle_brace_rr

Engage the authored cradle restraint state before removing external support. Confirm the rear braces remain in their baseline configuration.

Check: Support transfer cannot occur in the opposite dependency order.

12 Complete the transport handover

Model labels: capsule, door, top_hatch, cradle

Record final pose, support and restraint states, closures and the recovered discrepancy. Release the training package to the next operator.

Check: No real transport, lifting or restraint certification follows from this rehearsal.

Assessment and completion

Score configuration identity 20, support dependency order 25, path and seating choices 20, discrepancy recovery 20 and handover evidence 15. Unsupported release, forced offset seating or movement with an open door prevents completion.

Authoring and headless handoff

Author the capsule as one movable assembly, separate from the cradle. Use declared kinematic support states and review poses; do not invent load capacity, lifting points, centre of mass or dynamic stability.

Reuse the exact GLB and component identifiers above. Verify the supported Genesis import and binding path; the current Creator scene driver can generate a different model. This document and its JSON describe authoring intent, not completed interactions. Preserve one model revision and record actual lesson, job and review identifiers during execution.
