EON SPACE VENTURES · SIMULATION PROCEDUREDish exchange and pointing configuration handover
ESV-S06-SOP-03 · Earth observation satellite · model v3 · 12 steps
Practise removing and refitting the dish assembly, then restoring its authored pointing configuration. Resolve an orientation mismatch using source-linked references rather than visual guesswork.
Concept-model training and authoring specification. Real hardware operations require the programme owner’s approved procedure and engineering limits.
Before the exercise
Use the unpowered satellite on its support frame with radio transmission disabled in the scenario. Supply a dish transform group, support acknowledgement, mounting sequence, parked pose and target orientation. Real RF performance and mechanical limits are outside this demonstration.
1 Identify the communication assembly
Model labels: dish, dish.mount, dish.feed, support
Select the dish, its mount and feed while keeping the spacecraft support independent. Save the starting configuration.
Check: Correct assembly and support identities are required before access.
2 Establish the maintenance state
Model labels: bus, dish.feed, hatch
Read the scenario isolation and transmission-disabled record, then confirm that the unrelated bus hatch stays closed.
Check: A supplied state record is required; the model cannot prove isolation.
3 Map the dish structure
Model labels: dish.struts, dish.mount.bolts, dish.feed
Identify the struts, mounting-bolt group and feed. Associate all intended moving parts with the authored assembly group.
Check: A missing child object prevents the removal animation from being accepted.
4 Support the dish before release
Model labels: dish, dish.mount, dish.struts
Acknowledge the simulated assembly support and preview the approved removal path and parked location.
Check: Release remains blocked until the supported state and path are confirmed.
5 Release the mounting state
Model labels: dish.mount.bolts, dish.mount, bus
Select the mount-bolt group and release its authored retention state without changing the bus interface.
Check: A grouped bolt mesh supports a retention-state action, not individual torque claims.
6 Remove and park the dish
Model labels: dish, dish.feed, dish.struts
Move the supported dish group along its declared path to the parked pose, preserving feed and strut relationships.
Check: The entire intended assembly reaches its parked pose without a detached child.
7 Prepare the interface for refit
Model labels: dish.mount, dish.mount.bolts, bus
Compare the exposed mounting reference with the source configuration card and choose the reviewed refit orientation.
Check: The reference card must agree with the model and task revision.
8 Resolve the reversed orientation
Model labels: dish, dish.mount, dish.feed
Present a refit pose with the feed reference reversed. Place a hold and compare it with the approved orientation record.
Check: Accepting the reversed configuration is a critical error.
9 Refit and retain the dish
Model labels: dish, dish.mount, dish.mount.bolts
Return the assembly to the corrected interface pose and restore the simulation retention state.
Check: Seated pose, orientation and retention must satisfy declared exercise criteria.
10 Restore the pointing configuration
Model labels: dish, dish.feed, mast, optics.hood
Apply the author-supplied pointing pose and verify its configured clearance from the mast and optical hood.
Check: Pose acceptance is geometric; it does not establish RF gain or link quality.
11 Run the scenario verification
Model labels: dish.feed, dish.mount, connectors.right
Read the supplied simulated checkout result and compare it with the restored assembly and connector configuration record.
Check: Keep the checkout provenance and any unresolved result visible.
12 Hand over the communication state
Model labels: dish, dish.mount.bolts, dish.feed, support
Submit baseline and final poses, corrected orientation, retention state and checkout evidence for review.
Check: Completion requires a resolved hold, a retained assembly and the declared end state.
Assessment and completion
Score assembly selection 20, supported removal and refit 25, orientation recovery 25, target restoration 15 and evidence 15. Unsupported release, lost child geometry or accepting reversed orientation is a critical stop.
Authoring and headless handoff
Author group membership, mount retention and dish poses explicitly. Do not invent a powered pointing actuator, joint axis, bolt torque or RF test. An engineering owner supplies those details for a real programme. Preserve the model and diagnostic-source revisions.
Reuse the exact GLB and part identifiers. Verify the supported Genesis import and binding path before generation. These are procedure specifications; they do not claim a completed Genesis run.
