Vessel lid and header connection restoration

ESV-S07-SOP-03 Lunar ISRU plant Simulation procedure

Rehearse opening and restoring the cold vessel lid and its header connection while preserving the intended process route. Resolve a missing seal state before closing the service work package.

Use this procedure to author and assess a controlled simulation with the Lunar ISRU plant model, version 4. This is a concept-model training exercise. It does not authorise real hardware work or establish flight qualification.

Before the exercise

Use an empty, cold, unpowered and unpressurised concept-model exercise. The author supplies lid support, clamp ordering, detachable connection groups, parked poses and seal-state evidence. Real pressure systems, thermal work and leak-test methods remain outside this simulation specification.

1 Identify the vessel service boundary

Model labels: vessel, lid, gold_header, lid_to_header

Select the vessel, lid and the connection to the gold header. Save their baseline poses and identify the retained route.

Check: The service scope must not include unrelated feeder or collector assemblies.

2 Confirm the supplied work condition

Model labels: main_cabinet, vessel, inspection_port

Read the scenario evidence for the empty, cold, isolated and pressure-free state. Confirm the inspection-port reference in the record.

Check: No service release is permitted without the supplied condition evidence.

3 Map clamps and connections

Model labels: clamp_front, clamp_rear, clamp_fl, clamp_fr, header_coupling

Identify the clamp objects and header coupling, then review the author-defined sequence and support dependency.

Check: Object selection must agree with the current task revision.

4 Support and disconnect the header route

Model labels: lid_to_header, header_coupling, gold_header

Acknowledge support for the removable connection group and place it in its declared disconnected service pose.

Check: The header stays fixed; only the authorised connection group moves.

5 Release the lid retention

Model labels: clamp_front, clamp_rear, clamp_fl, clamp_fr, clamp_rl, clamp_rr

Release the configured clamp states in the reviewed training order while maintaining the supported lid state.

Check: The lid remains locked if any required clamp or support state is unresolved.

6 Open and park the supported lid

Model labels: lid, lid_seal, vessel

Move the lid along its authored path into the parked pose, retaining its associated parts as defined by the author.

Check: Record the intended group, path and supported parked state.

7 Resolve the missing seal condition

Model labels: lid_seal, lid, vessel

Present a refit checklist that marks the seal complete while its scenario condition is unresolved. Place a hold and request the missing evidence.

Check: Closing on a guessed seal condition is a critical error.

8 Restore the reviewed seal state

Model labels: lid_seal, vessel, lid

Apply the reviewer-approved training condition and place the labelled seal group in its authored seating configuration.

Check: The resolved evidence and seated state must be recorded together.

9 Refit the lid to its baseline

Model labels: lid, vessel, inspection_port

Return the supported lid to the defined seating pose and verify its orientation using the inspection-port reference.

Check: Reject reversed or incomplete seating against declared simulation criteria.

10 Restore clamps and header connection

Model labels: clamp_front, clamp_rear, clamp_rl, clamp_rr, lid_to_header, header_coupling

Restore all configured clamp states, then reconnect the lid-to-header group in the reviewed order.

Check: The connection cannot close while a required lid-retention state is incomplete.

11 Review the restored route

Model labels: gold_header, lid_front_port, lid_right_port, center_port

Compare the restored header and labelled port references with the baseline. Request the separately supplied completion result.

Check: A geometric match does not prove leak tightness or pressure readiness.

12 Hand over the closed work package

Model labels: vessel, lid, lid_seal, header_coupling

Submit the condition evidence, seal recovery, retention sequence and restored-configuration record for review.

Check: All critical holds are resolved and external test requirements remain explicit.

Assessment and completion

Score boundary identification 20, support and release order 25, seal-evidence recovery 25, restored interfaces 20 and handover 10. Unsupported lid release, guessed pressure state or unresolved seal evidence is a critical stop.

Authoring and headless handoff

Configure clamp, support and seal conditions explicitly. The model has grouped geometry and does not provide a certified lifting arrangement, seal compression or pressure analysis. Any leak-test or thermal evidence must come from separate approved records, not invented simulator readings.

Reuse the exact GLB and component identifiers above. Verify the supported Genesis import and binding path; the current Creator scene driver can generate a different model. This document and its JSON describe authoring intent, not completed interactions. Preserve one model revision and record actual lesson, job and review identifiers during execution.
